We attended the David Rogers Days Festival at David Rogers Park near our home. The park is open year around, and is a small village of restored, authentic log cabins much like those found in our area in the early 19th century. The festival is well attended by historical re-enactors from various backgrounds and representing different eras. Lots of open-fire cooking of frontier type foods, fresh herbs, and other sights, sounds, and smells from an earlier time to be enjoyed.
This is a photo I took of a couple who are there every year. They are telling stories to the young Amish girls, and are playing the part of an 18th century Dutch couple. Very colorful characters.
