It was such a beautiful day and our calender was empty, so we took a nice, leisurely drive to the Gene Stratton Porter State Historical Site near Rome City, Indiana. There we meandered about the grounds taking in the serene beauty of the place and photographing the thousands of flowers of many varieties that abound there. I’ll post some of my better flower pictures over the next few days.
This is a shot of the author’s home on the grounds. It is beautifully restored and maintained. How wonderful it must have been to have lived here a hundred years ago when it was even more remote and serene than it is today.
